WeCare, an industry association of plastic waste management have announced launch of “National Essay Competition” on Environment under WeCare Fellowship. The completion will open on October 20 and will be open for Indian students from Class 11 and above from all streams of study until Nov 20. The winners will be decalred on Dec 11.
Themes include Segregation-at-Source: A People’s Movement, Plastics: From Waste to Wealth, My Waste-My Responsibility, Waste to Energy, and Waste Management in My Community.

The competition is being organised in association with India CSR Network and The Hyphen, and with support from Swachh Bharat Mission. Partners include Buddy4Study, Million Sparks Foundation, and Connecting Dreams Foundation.
In addition to cash prizes Winners will receive internship offers by partner organisations. Additionally, all participating students will get free access to a creative writing workshop.
Commenting on the launch of the essay competition, Dr. Atul Sud, President of We Care said, “Through this initiative, we aim to engage with younger generation so they can be our drivers to behavioural change in the society, while we address the issue of plastic waste management.”
